What is goat milk soap? Why goat milk? What makes this soap so special?
Well, let me start by explaining what it is.
It is exactly what it says, soap that’s been made from goat milk. Goat milk has been used in the beauty industry for centuries and remains popular to date for so many reasons.
Made from mixing oils and a combination of water with lye (sodium hydroxide), but for this soap in particular, switch the water with goat milk and voila!….. or simply mix the two liquids, whatever floats your boat. The process is called saponification.

Why goat milk you ask?
…. because it’s able to penetrate the skin and is easily absorbed delivering nutrients such as vitamins A, B, C and E;
- A- keeps the skin hydrated.
- B- helps maintain healthy collagen levels, reduces acne breakouts, soothes eczema, psoriasis and other skin irritations.
- C- also known as ascorbic acid in skin care, is a strong antioxidant that helps in collagen synthesis and prevents photo damage caused by UV rays.
- E- which prevents oxidative damage caused by free radicals both before and after sun exposure.

Benefits.
- Brightens the skin. Its antioxidant and mild exfoliant properties (lactic acid) work together to help delay the appearance of fine lines also lifting hyperpigmentation either caused by sun damage, age spots, acne or other factors.
- It’s a gentle cleanser. Unlike some commercially made soaps that may dry out your skin, from harsh surfactants that can strip your skin off not just dirt and debris but natural moisture and oils that are meant to protect the skin barrier, leaving you feeling dry and tight.
- Effective in treating acne. Lactic acid in the soap may help manage or prevent acne, by removing dirt and excess from the skin.
- Soothes skin. Red patches, itchy skin and other inflammations are common to people with sensitive skin and can be as a result of allergic reactions, sun exposure, psoriasis and other conditions.
Bonus point: Unscented goat milk soap does well for every skin type.
